1% for the Planet is a global organization that exists to ensure our planet and future generations thrive. 1% for the Planet inspires businesses and individuals to support not for profit environmental organisations.

Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for the Planet members have given more than $270 million to approved conservation organisations. Today, 1% for the Planet’s global network consists of thousands of businesses, individuals and environmental organisations working toward a better future for all.

When individuals and businesses join 1% for the Planet, they make a commitment to give back to approved environmentally focused organizations. Members give directly to approved environmental organisations and 1% for the Planet certify this giving annually.
