An Evening with Merlin Hanbury-Tenison
At Andrew Brown Dental, we recognise the close link between community wellbeing and environmental responsibility. As members of 1% for the Planet, we’re pleased to highlight an inspiring upcoming event at Calstock Arts.
About the Event
On Thursday 11th September at 8 pm, author Merlin Hanbury-Tenison will deliver an illustrated talk based on his new book, Our Oaken Bones.
The book tells the story of how, after returning to Cornwall in 2020, Merlin and his wife Lizzie discovered that the overgrazed woods on their family farm were in fact one of the UK’s last surviving fragments of Atlantic temperate rainforest. What followed was their fight to restore this unique habitat, while also navigating personal challenges and family health crises.
Our Oaken Bones is a compelling and honest account of recovery, resilience, and the deep connections between people and nature.
Why Attend?
This illustrated talk promises to be both engaging and thought-provoking. Merlin will share his personal experiences alongside a wider message about the importance of protecting Britain’s rainforests and the role they can play in our own wellbeing.
